Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
FamFit is an accountability app: you and one partner each set a daily goal and keep a shared streak. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
All of it is linked to your account.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Activity for your goal — steps, exercise minutes, workouts or walking and running distance (Apple Health / Health Connect) | To know when you hit your daily goal and whether your shared streak advances |
| Name you enter at signup | So your partner sees who they're paired with |
| Account identifier (and the email or phone used to sign in) | To authenticate you |
| Push notification token | To send pact notifications to your device |
| Photos you choose to attach to a day | Shown to your pact partner, and only to them. Optional — your streak never depends on one. Stored privately. Each photo is re-saved on your device before upload, which removes location and all other metadata. |
| Usage data (screens opened, buttons tapped, streak events) | To understand which parts of the app work and fix the parts that don't |
We read only the activity your goal is set to. FamFit never writes data to Apple Health or Health Connect, and requests read access only when you create or join your first pact.
How your health data is used
- That data is used solely to run the pact features you asked for: showing your progress, telling your partner you hit your goal, and computing your shared streak.
- It is never used for advertising, and is never sold to anyone, including data brokers. We do not run ads in FamFit.
- Health data is never stored in iCloud. It is stored in our database (Supabase, hosted in the United States) and on your device.
- We never make medical or diagnostic claims. FamFit is a motivation and accountability tool, not a health intervention or medical device.
- Analytics events never contain your measured activity or any other health data.
Who can see your data
- Your pact partner sees your first name, the kind of goal you chose and your daily target, today's progress toward it (for example "3,200 of 8,000 steps"), any photo you attach to a day, and your shared streak history. They do not see your activity outside what your goal counts, your contact details, or anything from other apps.
- Someone you send an invite link to sees your first name and the daily goal you set on the invite screen, before they sign up, so they know whose pact they are joining and can pick their own goal. The link stops showing either once it has been used or has expired.
- Nobody else. We don't sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
- Service providers that process data on our behalf under contract: Supabase (database and authentication), Expo (push notification delivery), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (crash reporting), and Resend (email). They may not use your data for their own purposes.
Our website
- The waitlist on famfit.app collects your first and last name and email, and your phone number only if you give one and tick the box to receive texts about FamFit's launch. We use these only to tell you about FamFit. Reply STOP to any text, or ask us, and we'll remove you.
- The contact form stores your name, email and message so we can reply, and emails it to us through Resend, our email provider.
- Visit counts. We count page visits and waitlist signups with PostHog, using a random ID stored in your browser and the link that brought you (for example Instagram). No name, email or phone number is sent to PostHog.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time: Settings → Delete account and data. This permanently erases your profile, your daily completion records, the photos you attached, and your notification history. It cannot be undone.
Because a pact is shared between two people, deleting your account ends any pact you're in and removes you from it. Your partner keeps the record of the pact you shared — including its streak history — as their own history.
If you can't access the app, email us at the address below and we will delete your account within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleted accounts are removed immediately as described above; backups are rotated out within 30 days.
Children
FamFit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
